Welcome back and happy New Year!
Can you believe it's January already? Almost 3 weeks in and we’re still not convinced. It seems like the last year flew by and that everyone, ourselves included, are amped up for the opportunities that 2016 has to offer. The creative energy is definitely in the air and we can already tell that this is going to be an exciting ride for us, here at essenceLA. So, before we begin, we'd like to welcome you all back. We hope that everyone had an amazing holiday and are off to a great start this year, following through with all of those new year's resolutions (at least thus far). We are so glad to be back at it this year and we have tons of exciting things to share with you all! But most of all, we are glad to have you back - even if it is for the first time- ready to join us for another year of art, life and culture here in Los Angeles.
2015 was an exciting year for us, we launched our site, and hit the ground running, exploring the streets of LA in search of all of the native creative minds and incredible talent that call this city their home. We met sculptors and photographers, filmmakers and clothing designers and that was only the beginning. We took our time, and explored two incredible neighborhoods, Carson and Cypress Park and if you missed them then, you can check out their articles and all of the amazing things both of these communities are contributing to the LA art scene in the tabs above. Over the course of the year we saw some amazing work and got to visit some really great places. From food festivals and breweries to improv shows and open mics we had tons to explore and now we are looking forward to so much more.
Picking up right where we left off, in the classic, colorful community of Cypress Park we thought we’d start the year off strong and introduce you all to one very talented artist from the area right off the bat. This artist was such a pleasure to meet and their work is just incredible to see. And we know that their attention to detail and meticulous skill will definitely blow you away just as it did us. So make sure you stay tuned for that article coming your way next week. We promise you, their work is a must see making that article a must read.
In the meantime, make sure to connect with us. Join us on social media and, feel free to submit your artwork or an upcoming art event for a chance to be featured on the site. We are always looking to connect with more artists and explore new places here in LA and we’d love to hear from you.
